Bespoke luxury home builders in Perth

Bespoke means made to measure. At Averna Homes, that goes beyond the floor plan to the details you see and touch every day: the stone, the timber, the cabinetry, the lighting and the way each room catches the light.

Every home starts with a blank page. As custom home builders, we design and build around your block and how you live. Bespoke is the layer that makes it unmistakably yours: finishes and features chosen for you and no one else.

Our interior team works with you on materials, textures and tones, so the inside of the home is as considered as the architecture.

What is a bespoke home?

A bespoke home is designed and built for one owner, down to the finest details. Where a standard home starts with a plan and a list of options, a bespoke home starts with you: how you live, what you love and how you want each space to feel.

In our homes, that has meant a garage designed to show off a car collection, a walk-in robe so generous it is almost a room in itself, and a lift built in for the years ahead.

Each year, we take on a limited number of homes, so every one of those details gets the attention it deserves.

Bespoke home design in Perth

Bespoke design is about how a home feels as much as how it looks. Our designers think about light, proportion, materials and sightlines from the very first sketch.

Inside Villa Alia

Our display home, Villa Alia, was designed as a private sanctuary on one of South Perth’s busiest streets. Sculptural forms, warm timber, natural stone and polished concrete sit alongside landscaped courtyards that leave the street behind.

Villa Alia is available to view by appointment, so you can experience the detail first hand.

Frequently asked questions.

What does bespoke home mean?

A bespoke home is made to measure for its owner. The word comes from tailoring, where a bespoke suit is cut for one person rather than taken off the rack. In building, it means the design, materials and detailing are all chosen for you and your site.

What does bespoke mean in architecture and interior design?

In architecture, bespoke means a design created for one site and one brief, rather than adapted from a standard plan.

In interior design, it covers the finishes, cabinetry, lighting and furniture chosen specifically for the home, so the inside feels as considered as the outside.

What is the difference between a bespoke home and a custom home?

The terms overlap, and many builders use them interchangeably. A custom home is designed from scratch around your block and lifestyle. Bespoke takes that further into the detail, with materials, finishes and features chosen specifically for you. Every Averna home is both.

What is a bespoke home builder?

A bespoke home builder designs and builds one-off homes, with the detail tailored to each client. At Averna, that means our own designers and interior team, plus long-term trades and suppliers who bring the finishes to life.

What materials do you use in a bespoke home?

There is no set palette. Averna homes have featured natural stone, richly grained timbers, textured concrete and refined render, each chosen to suit the architecture, the site and the people living there.

Can a bespoke home be designed for the years ahead?

Yes. Thinking ahead is part of bespoke design. Villa Alia, for example, includes a lift and a long-term layout, so the home can adapt as needs change.

Is outdoor living part of a bespoke home?

Yes. Landscaping and outdoor living are designed alongside the home, not added at the end. In Sanctuary House, every window frames greenery and courtyards soften the built form.

Our outdoor work was also named the 2026 HIA Perth Outdoor Project of the Year.

Can a bespoke home work on a smaller or narrower block?

Yes. Good design can make a home feel far larger than its footprint. Villa Scala sits on a 10.8 metre frontage, yet large expanses of glass and clever planning give it an open, airy feel.

How does the bespoke building process work?

It follows our seven-stage process, from getting to know you and your site through to design, approvals, construction and handover. Interiors and selections are finalised before the build begins, so every detail is settled early.

Can I see a bespoke Averna home in person?

Yes. Our display home, Villa Alia, is available to view by appointment.

Where do you build bespoke homes?

We build across Perth, with homes in suburbs including Applecross, Dalkeith, South Perth and Como. Explore our portfolio to see recent projects.
